Paris grew up with a fondness for horses and riding for pleasure, following in her mother's footsteps. She joined her local pony club and started competing there, where she discovered her love for eventing and realising that she wanted to work with horses and pursue an eventing career.
Paris left school and immediately went on to manage a local livery yard to pursue this goal. With numerous long-term liveries and very few vacancies, the livery yard became very successful for Paris. She has been able to enjoy producing and competing a number of her own horses up to CCI*, as well as those of her clients. She's also had the privilege of assisting many of her clients in getting the most out of their own horses, which she finds quite fulfilling.
Paris has competed on a variety of horses throughout her career, but Hollypark Royale, Hollypark Canon, and Ghost Town GT are the ones that stood out.
At the age of sixteen, Paris purchased her first horse, HollyPark Canon (Pops), with the help and support of her parents. Over a five-year period, Paris produced Pops and together, they had numerous successes and placing's ranging from 90 to Novice, competing in both 90 and Novice regionals.
Hollypark Royale (Mitch), Paris' second horse, was purchased as a project 5-year-old from Ireland in early 2013. She quickly realised he had amazing scope and potential after attending a two-day camp in summer 2013. Mitch has had a number of top ten finishes at 90/100/Novice, as well as a double clear and a seventh-place finish in their second CIC* (now CIC**). He then went on to successfully complete four Intermediates all with dressage scores in the early 30's.
Ghost Town GT (Casper) came to Paris through her long-time friend and Farrier. A big, nervous, untrained warmblood with a tendency to bolt in sheer panic, he required a kind hand, patience and resilience. Casper’s background and history were unknown, and it took a significant amount of time to build his confidence. Despite this, he had his greatest achievements in 2017, jumping 7/11 double clears. He also completed several novice competitions and a CIC*. His results were inconsistent but given the less-than-ideal start to his ridden life and his sometimes-nervous disposition, Paris felt that he achieved over and above her expectations of him.
Paris has assisted many of her clients in managing and overseeing the rehabilitation of their horses, including her own Hollypark Royal (Mitch). Mitch suffered an unfortunate field injury that resulted in a fractured splint bone and 12 weeks of rigorous box rest in a cast, he was one of the inspirations for undertaking a qualification in sports massage and rehabilitation. It has helped Paris better understand the healing and rehabilitation process and transformed the way she manages her horses on a daily basis, putting a greater emphasis on injury prevention and responding to their unique physical requirements.
